The principle of the friction gun (specifically the friction electrostatic powder spray gun) is to generate contact electrification by rubbing powder coating with a special polymer material on the inner wall of the gun, so that the powder becomes charged and is adsorbed to the grounded workpiece by airflow, without the need for a high-voltage electrostatic powder coating machine.
Core working mechanism
1.Frictional charging: The powder, driven by compressed air, flows through the gun bodys, repeatedly colliding and rubbing against the inner wall (usually made of strong electronegative materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene), resulting in charge separation; the powder becomes positively charged, while the gun wall becomes negatively charged and is grounded.
2.Formation of spatial electric field: After being sprayed, the charged powder forms a spatial electric field through its own charge, rather than an external high-voltage electric field. The electric field intensity decreases with increasing distance.
3.Electrostatic adsorption: Charged powder, propelled by airflow and influenced by electrostatic forces, flies towards grounded workpieces and adheres to them, subsequently undergoing high-temperature curing to form a film.
